Teaching kids self care skills is another core area where parents and professionals get stuck with children with autism. Self care problems include potty training, safety skills, showering, and other related skills that are crucial to developing independence. So in today’s weekly video blog we’re covering how you can get unstuck from autism self care skills that you may have been trying to teach for weeks or months, but have had little to no success. Because these skills are more complex, it makes increasing independence in kids with autism extremely difficult. Thank you so much, my son is 11yrs old now and I thought the worst was over from when he was a toddler...but now at 11 yrs old we are now stuck with difficulty with hygiene...Im on repeat everyday of why hygiene is important and literally making him shower, brush teeth, ..
