Dr. Mary Barbera discusses self care skills and how to start building independence in children with autism.

Teaching kids self care skills is another core area where parents and professionals get stuck with children with autism. Self care problems include potty training, safety skills, showering, and other related skills that are crucial to developing independence. So in today’s weekly video blog we’re covering how you can get unstuck from autism self care skills that you may have been trying to teach for weeks or months, but have had little to no success. Because these skills are more complex, it makes increasing independence in kids with autism extremely difficult. But I know how to help, and the best way I know how is through my online courses and free workshops.
