You need an SUV but it needs to be compact, efficient, safe, enjoyable to drive, reliable and hopefully not plummet in value?

Also it can’t be more than $15,000 and would be nice if it were a little stylish too, what should you get?

Let us know what you think in the comments below and don't forget to subscribe to stay up to date with all our latest content!

At ReDriven, we’ll be taking you through the pros and cons of a huge range of used cars to see how well they’re going now that they’re a few years old, have thousands of kilometres on the clock, and are coming toward the end of their warranty, or maybe don’t have one at all.

Plus, thanks to our resident mechanic, Jim, you’ll find out what commonly goes wrong with them and what might need to be fixed.

Most importantly, we want to make ReDriven a voice for the most in-the-know used car experts there are...you guys.. See, you’re the ones that actually buy, live with, love and sometimes unfortunately hate the cars we’ll be reviewing.

So we want to hear your thoughts. Hit us up in the comments, or on Instagram and Facebook.

We’d love nothing more than for you to give us as much feedback as possible, so we can make this channel the best it can be.

Been driving a 2012 ix35 since I got my L’s in August 2020. I’ve done 15000kms, multiple trips of over 700kms and it never skips a beat. A very good first car even with 164000 kms.

Great videos, really enjoying the channel. Territory isn’t perfect but the last series with the 4l petrol still look good, have 6 speed auto and are mechanically simple due to rear wheel drive. The fuel cost well and truly offset by low purchase price and servicing/parts.

I have a 2.4 litre RAV 4. It’s actually been a very reliable engine too and only started burning oil after about 200, 000 km. If you don’t drive it hard, it won’t burn much oil at all, but if you do a fair bit of long distance driving, or have a lead foot, expect to top up with about a litre of oil every couple of weeks. Just be careful to keep your eye on the oil level.

I just subbed to your channel and am on the market for a good used car. I currently have a 2015 VW Passat, that I love. The problem is I need a vehicle that sits a little higher.

good video, just got excited but other than the Rav4, they are all baby's, I need a medium sized SUV. V6 Rav4 is hard to find, there is only one in Perth for sale online.

I’d definitely pick the CX-5 out of this bunch. I’ve owned a few Mazda’s in the past and they are all fun to drive.

This review was just what I was looking for as I’m in the market for one of these vehicles. Unfortunately over here in Nz there are no V6 RAV4’s for sale as they don’t seem to be very common here. All good though as I personally like the CX5 as well and I’m currently looking at spending just a little bit extra and trying to find a good deal on a facelift model 16 to 17 2.5 4WD that has the radar cruise control. Keep the reviews coming they are fantastic!

Hi Team, love your work but curious as to how the Kia Sportage is in the Top 5 here? In a review of the Kia Sportage on another video, Jim mentions that the pre 2015 or 2016 models were notorious for engine issues and in some cases, catastrophic engine failure. I'm just asking because i was thinking of buying a 2014 Sportage but Jim's comments suggest that may not be the best decision perhaps? How does the reliability of a 2011 -2014 Kia Sportage compare to the following:
- X Trail 2010-2013 (Manual only/no CVT)
- Outlander 2010 - 2012 (manual/no CVT)

Just bought a 2013 diesel c×5 max sport at 148kms with a good service history for 14k - are there any potential issues I need to be wary of? Diesel variant seems to be getting a lot of hate in owner groups

I just bought (from a dealer) a Volvo XC60 T6 2011 AWD (3.0L 6cyl twin turbo) with 76k on the clock for a smidge under $15K
I don't think I'd be trading it in for any of these cars, fit & finish, passive safety, active safety, size, comfort, the only compromise will be maintenance and upkeep costs will be higher.
Redriven did an XC60 review just a few weeks ago, so it must have been on their radar.

Ask around the mechanics what's the most reliable, cheap and popular SUV in the last 20 years . Not just in OZ but USA. The Honda CR-V

Grateful for this list a RAV 4 v6 is my preferred option now . Just Found out the hard way that Mazda Tribute should definately be on a worst list, looking for a replacement car now, and has an xtrail suggested by a lot of people allegedly a good SUV to tow with, but I can’t find xtrail on any of your lists yet ? do you have any recommendations on them and which models to recommend for or against please?

Would definitely get wither Kia Sportage 2011-2013, or RAV4 3d gen. Not a fan of old cx-5 looks. Thank champ for another great video

Agree the "V6 RAV4 is a excellent SUV but find a good example for 11 K it's not going to happen you'll get a 4cyl for 10 to 12 but in V6 they aren't available very often and the last one to appear in car sales Sydney with about 110:on the clock had a asking price of 15k and was sold within 2weeks
