Here it is folks, a project started over a year ago I can finally share with you all -

This brand-new documentary is a collaboration between myself and editor/fxsupremo Aaron Price, responsible for some of the best restoration and sfx upgrades to the original film you'll ever see.

I approached Aaron not long after a generous fan had provided uploads of raw footage shot for French Television. Though the coverage was broadcast at the time (and is available in poor quality here on the channel) not only was it dubbed in French but much of the majority of priceless behind the scenes footage remained unused.

Aaron and I discussed the possibility and potential for re-cutting the Interview (filmed by a crew at Reeve's townhouse in Chelsea in 1986) and the magnificent behind the scenes footage together in the style of a potential DVD/Blu-Ray extra - the kind the original feature deserved...

“And over the last few years we have heard a lot about something called ‘family values’. And like many of you, I have struggled to figure out what that means. And since my accident, I've found a definition that seems to make sense. I think it means that we're all family. And that we all have value.”
Christopher Reeve, speaking at the Democratic National Convention in 1996.
What a Super Man.

No matter how many times I see "Superman IV", when I watch the scene where Lois is sitting with Clark in his apartment, tearfully discussing Superman's disappearance and her fear that he might be dead, I never fail to get a lump in my throat and tears in my own eyes.
Even with all the weaknesses this movie has (it's my least favorite of the Reeve "Superman" series), I still prefer it over any of today's "Man of Steel" movies. The new movies are an okay popcorn and soda theater experience; with all the hype behind them and the spectacle of those computer effects, and by leaving your brain at home and not expecting too much, they're halfway tollerable. But one thing "Superman IV" has over them is heart.
And don't even get me started on how much better the MUSIC was in those older movies!

My God where did you find this footage? This is amazing! Especially the Clive Mantle footage and the fight scenes outside the Metro Club. And is Mark Pillow the nicest, most well spoken, polite and down to earth gentleman ever? I mean seriously…How refreshing is that? Especially given the garbage that Cannon gave to this poor film. So refreshing to see class like this for a change. The Furie must see the light of day. Let’s make this happen!

Christopher Reeve as Superman and Burt Ward as Robin both came straight out of the comics. They really brought those characters to life.

This is fantastic. Always loved that Superman was multilingual in TQFP. Great to see the behind the scenes on this and Reeve’s take on it.

I feel sad that Christopher Reeve had no idea at the time that this would be the daftest and worst put together Superman movie. He had his ideas of what would work and they really didn’t. Still love the man and there will never be an actor that personifies Superman like he did.

This is an amazing watch. Thankyou so much for this. One of my favourite scenes in the quest for peace is when superman goes to the UN and tells that he's going to rid the world of nuclear weapons. It moves me so much and makes me cry every time. I miss chris reeve.

Absolutely brilliant. My favorite of the Superman films…I still wish we had a complete full edit with Nuclear Man 1 and the night club scene!

This is such a great piece to see after all these years. Guaranteed Martin Lakin has already located the exact house where Christopher Reeve resided during this documentary 👍🏼

Despite its low budget this was a comic book hero movie with a cause. For that reason alone I hold it in high regard. Not done again until the recent Guardians of The Galaxy movie protesting against animal testing and cruelty. If Aaron gets his way, this could turn out to be a fabulous movie.

Excellent video. This film has taken on greater poignancy since its premiere in 1987. The last Reeve Superman, a film with its heart in the right place, a film shortchanged by its producers. Today's digital production solutions, however, offer the possibility to Restore Superman IV, to make it the film it was meant to be.

Amazing watch. Great behind the scenes footage. But what took the cake was listening Christopher Reeve speak at length about Superman and his portrayal of Clark Kent.
Gives you an idea of how iconic Superman 4 could have been given the right execution and production values.
Also lovely listening to Mark Pillow who plays Nuclear Man. What a refined, polite gentleman he comes across here. Kudos for uploading this hidden gem.
