BUT I'M REALLY OFFENDED!

Ever wonder why people get offended so easily, so quickly...almost like they enjoy it? It's because "offended" is now a magic word that grants instant powers to the offended party. It also takes away all the rights of the person who supposedly caused offense...the key word being "supposedly." Somewhere along the line we forgot that people are ultimately responsible for their own reactions to your words, and that the line between genuine offense and you just being a candy a$$ is actually pretty broad. Let's get into this.

ok but you don't always know everything about everything. I have met many people who are accidentally rude or offensive around me being trans, people who ask weird questions or such. If they listened to you, they would just be an asshole.
