NERA Composite Armor Simulation

Test result for upcoming simulation that will be higher quality.
Program used is ANSYS.

This is a first test result, I will be comparing its performance directly to RHA in another higher quality simulation. Composite armor simulations like these can take a very long time to make, anywhere from 3 to 10 times longer then solid RHA simulations.

With this or standard spaced steel, what do you think about progressively increasing the angle of each deeper piece to deflect in a stepwise pattern? I was also curious how plates at opposing 45-degree angles would fare. Which could then be granularized to a square lattice.

one type of attack, but how well will it do against the shaped charge.. Silicon-nitride balls in the rubber backer would spread the kinetic force out and dissipate the heat. Replacement-repair also is a major consideration.

I always think that the apfsds always lose speed when hitting a solid object slowing down the penetrators to lose a lot of kinetic energy.
