Hey everyone!

Welcome to my first video in Electrophysiology. I'm going to be solving practice problems in this video series (so no actual course material).

Questions? Comments? Let me know below!

I just rewatched the video after having seen this series a long time ago;

most of the things made a lot of sense (relearning it all definitely is solidifying my understanding of it all a lot, though).

The one thing for which I noticed that I wasn't familiar with is the "using the time constant to determine the shape of function of how the potential changes as current gets injected";

i.e. the "delta_V = I * R" part of the equation i was already familiar with, but the "exponential term with time constant" correction i had not seen before, actually!

maybe I'll go search/find some introductory stuff on that now (or maybe after rewatching the rest of the series)

anyway
thanks for making these videos!
take care

Love it! Please do some practice questions on sodium channel inactivation and action potential thresholding!

Hello!
This was great. But I just had a small doubt. Why does the capacitance of the membrane not change before and during synaptic excitation?

Your three problems are very good ! thank you very much ! Do you have by any chance other practice problems ?

Any reason the surface area is using diameter instead of radius^2? if I was to have done these calculations I would of had pi*(10um)^2

What book is this from? I'm not studying physiology at university (I'm a physics student) but I am very interested in the topic. Any book recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Its no problem if the contents are technical or require some background knowledge, I'm very willing to look stuff up and like a bit of a challenge. Thank you!

Are you writing this with the mouse???
