it's not only the story quests, if a singel NPC is stuck in a world quest, and you have it, and this very same NPC is going to be part of the story or even archon quest, boy good luck, you'll have to go do that world quest so the NPC is free to be present on the quest you're onto

That's what ruined the immersion for me in Sumeru Archon quests in 3.0 - 3.3. I couldn't just finish one hangout quest to then do the archon quest, I had to do each one by a small portion as soon as some backstage NPC is free again.

This is why I started doing story quests very soon after they come out. I remember having that same problem some months ago and I decided I never want to have to go through that again.

I’m more of a lore enthusiast so it would be wonderful to find some unseen story waiting there.

Have finished every available story and world quest, even the hidden ones like the Shuumatsuban story 😅

When I started in 1.6, I knew about it in Golden Apple Archipelago. So I start doing them when they are released to avoid getting locked out of Certain Points.

Learned this pain during the last act of Sumeru archon quest.
I have unlocked Cyno and Nilou's quests but not done them yet... And NILOU !!! Kept locking me out of the archon quest because I needed so many npcs in both!
So I did her story quest, but it was the most borin thing ever and I hate her so that didn't help, so that I could finally save Nahida.
Now I'm never unlocking a quest before I sure I want to do it right away.

Yeah, I never understood that I only unlock a quest when I'm about to do it, if not they just stay locked.

Yeah I realized that too. I had to start tighnari's quest before I could do the scaramouche quest cause i unlocked it. I wish it was like hangouts where you can unlock it and then later click something to actually accept the quest.

And to add insult to injury, story quests are usually trash

I kid you not. I literally had to take commission just to free up an NPC whose only role is to get clapped by Kujou Sara and lie down at the stairs of Tenshukaku.

I don't get why the important quests don't get priority in that. It was the same in 3.0, when I wanted to progress the story quest, but I needed an NPC from the event quest that they were doing. So I had to stop the whole momentum I had to do some really boring tasks that I didn't want to do at this point. I mean, the stories are basically just dialogues anyway for the most part. How they can't make it that it just spawns the NPC for the dialogue if needed, is something I don't understand. So what if the same NPC appears twice in the city? Not like there aren't countless other things that break immersion anyway. But at least you don't lose the pacing from the quest the player wants to do.

Ah I did the same ...I was at Fontaine archon quest ..even I didn't fight with father ...and now I don't see any archon quest ..i have 12 story quests and some of them are like "Character is Busy in other quest " ..now I'm frustrated with the quests ..
I wish I could watch this video earlier.

I had two main quests blocked for unknown reasons. It didn't require an NPC, I just couldn't complete them...
