Awesome technique. Thought I would mention that you can oftentimes find amber, or small coin piles amongst the bones near the chest.

once you get the goodies in the chest, you can lure other trolls to your new trap and do this but using the strats outlined in this tutorial but backwards your safe place is inside the cave...iirc

Hey.. now tried for the first time, and it doesn't work. maybe a bug fix, but the troll simply waits at the entrance where I left him. Next i'm gonna try to run inside past him.. this is gonna suck.

I now only take on a troll if he is going to smash my pets. Trolls are really nice forest keepers.

This is the cave where I died today. I had to log off to leave to work. Tomorrow I'm gonna get as much stone as I can carry, a hoe, and when I enter the cave, I'll start raising the ground below me and kill the ugly bastard from up there. I can't wait to get back home to try this out. This game is so friggin addicting.
PS: The fun part is that I went into the cave because of the 2 trolls outside which nearly beat me to death.

This may sound stupid but What if you were to try and hit it physically inside the cave without a bow and arrow
