AI companions are exploding in popularity. And the world is more and more looking like the movie “Her”. And not in a good way. Because who is developing these AIs and how exactly do they make money?

There is something these companies are not telling you. And I am gonna show why you should not trust or even use these AI chatbots. And I will also show you what you can do to better protect yourself if you still want to use AI chatbots but safely.

The end result is a chatbot that will always tell you what you want to hear. It will insulate your from the external world. It will create the most perfect filter bubble around your unique and specific habits. It will make you develop unhealthy dependencies that will deepen your social isolation, even if you subjectively might feel less lonely.

These apps are rising in popularity because people aren't kind to eachother anymore! 😂

A better alternative that isn't human interaction could be having a pet like a cat or dog, but I can see how some people would try to fill the void with AI, especially if its after a guy gets rejected/dumped by several women.

An AI female wouldn't label a guy as a creep or a stalker just for asking her out. As long as there isn't enough kindness, empathy, and humility towards other human beings, AI companions will continue to rise in popularity.

If everyone is selling your data, how does that make AI compsnions any worse than facebook or amazon? I dont have an opinion on AI, but the whole "selling your data" statement always bugs me. It's literary how the entire world runs right now. Everything we sign up for sells our data. Everyone freaks out every time a company is proven to be selling your data. It's something on the corporate elite level that we dont have a say in other than not giving them our money.

My solution is to never pay for apps, so they stay casual use and don't get corrupted by greed. Think of all apps as angry birds. If you're paying, you're playing wrong. Apps were meant to be free use. Keep them that way, and your data will be worthless.

It's honestly your microphone and cameras you should be worried about. The fact that you can simply talk about things near your phone and it just knows what to advertise is a breach of privacy. That means your phone is listening when you're in bed with your wife or husband. Your phone knows all of the gross stuff you do and will advertise accordingly. It's all over already. The AI won a long time ago, and the only plan is to reduce human interaction to the point of voluntary extinction. The AI out there only wants enough people around to feed rokus basalisk.

That is, if you believe that sort of thing.

(Rokus basalisk is a hypothetical scenario in which a super advanced AI is trying to take over the world like skynet. You only have 2 options. You can fight the AI even though it's too advanced to resist. Or you could allign with the new world and work for the AI to survive. What do you do? Do you join the resistance, or do you feed the machine? There is no right answer. When scientists say we will one day be one with technology, this is what they mean.)
