Dude you've saved me some money and I learnt a new skill. I followed your instructions to the letter and managed to isolate and cap a rad from my bathroom .... This was a first for me so I really appreciate your tutorial 👍🏾

Cheers for taking the time to make this video! Helped me out massively, had a radiator to remove in our downstairs living room and followed your video. No issues or leaks. Also followed your "adding inhibitor" one too whilst i was at it, but used a syringe as opposed to your patented contraption :) Cheers for you help!

Quick question, is it possible that capping off like this will stop the feed to another radiator in the house, if they run in sequence, so to speak. Without knowing whether this is the case, is it OK to join the 2 pipes together rather than capping them off. Thanks.

Glad you mentioned the inserts. I am constantly amazed how many people seem to leave such a basic step out and then wonder why they get leaks.

BEFORE YOU SAY plastic caps aren't the best solution....but they are part of it! You can use compression ends on plastic pipes.

Got those beers by the way!

This may be a silly question I have capt off a radiator the pipework was the pipe was above the floor so I just followed you down till he went underground and cut it and kept it off did the same with the other one so does this mean but the Circuit of the radiators has now been cut will the others still get hot

You've saved me so much money with these videos. If you're ever in Ireland I'll buy you a beer 😊 (I'm about to do this job except I've got copper pipe sticking out of concrete 😠)

Excellent video James! These are my favourites as well as plumbing disasters. My boiler was loosing pressure a few weeks back, lucky it was down to a leaky blanking plug at the top of the rad.

Hi! We’re hoping to remove our radiator but we’re in a lower ground floor flat and have a concrete screed below our engineered timber flooring. Is it still possible to remove the radiator with a concrete screed? Don’t think we’d be able to do the part of the job where you get under the floor boards. Thanks!

Hey, Wouldn't it be better and less hassle to just isolate the radiator by just turning off both the valves ?

That way if there is ever a very cold spell the owner still has the option to put the radiator back on in the room instead of having to have it refitted again.

Great vids BTW - Keep em coming!

Can i use this method with pvc pipes coming out of the wall, chisel away till find the pipe then cap it then replaster. What comprression caps or inserts are better,

When you cut a square patch out of the floor, hold the cutting tool at an angle so the piece can sit on something when you replace it rather than dropping straight through. Do this on two opposing edges, no need to do all four.
