A compressor that eats transients for breakfast, the 1178 is a rare and expensive legend of the recording studio, cleaner and more versatile than its older brother, the 1176. The 1178 has been used by great producers including Chris Lord-Alge (My Chemical Romance), Bob Clearmountain (Rolling Stones, Christina Aguilera), Yvan Bing (Phil Collins) and Nigel Godrich (Radiohead).

Wonderful Compressor. I think everybody has tons of 1176/78 emulations. But this one is insane 👍

Excellent demo on a great plugin compressor. The Pulsar 1178 is on the wish list to go along with the Mu, Massive, and Smasher. All excellent choices and are my go-to plugins that work great in everything I use them on.

I've not used the real deal "1078" but this in other hand is pure genius stuff, how often do you find plugins like this to dial the comp just to get that thump sound precisely or whatever your searching for soundwise. In my opinion It's easy to use, looks fabulous and all the nice features you get with it. This is a must have :) Did i say that it sounds frickin good ? :)

vocal and electric guitar examples sound really nice with your plugin. drums just sounded extremely over saturated. but hopefully you can manipulate it to make the compressor and saturation more subtle...right?

Hardware have more extended highs and better transient representation. Still, plugin have a good sound and much more versatile.

Oops, this sounds nothing like the hardware, messieurs! Either the demo is not doing justice to the plugin, or you might want to revisit the algorithms. (I kinda like the 1178 hardware, that's why I watched this - but it doesn't make me want to buy it at all)
