Yay for Whitleypedia! I'm impressed that you have silent friends correcting you off to your left AND your right. I'd be interested in seeing your Top 100. Besides, the topic is always secondary to your great in-jokes. You're the Arrested Development of Breakfast segments - you'll get more out of it if you've seen previous episodes.

Chaz is the entire witty reason that I watch this show for.

Adding my vote for the Whitleypedia segment, and a top 100. It's a consistently good segment. Keep up the good work!

Hi, Tom! I have just stopped watching so I can express my gratitude to you (second week in a row!) for something you've said. Your Tom Thinks segment was BRILLIANT! Yes, by all means, there should be both small and large conventions, exclusive and inclusive, but you can be big and friendly at the same time, too, and I hope you succeed in getting Dice Tower into the Orange County Convention Center and filling every hall.

The question for Chaz - An idea could be to try some "gamer" card games with a classic feel - like the games designed by Mike Fitzgerald.

That's it, I'm starting CabinInTheWoodsCon, 5 slots available. The same people who went last year can't come this year...cuz they're dead!

Board Game Social : I won't do rape in games. When I got Dead of Winter, I checked the "adult themed" cards to make sure none of them were about performing or recovering from rape. That is not my idea of a good time, I will not watch movies that have a rape on screen. Same goes with things like child abuse, sexual deviancy, human trafficking, desecration of the sacred, or driving someone else to suicide. Its gotta get pretty dark for me, but there are things that are not acceptable for my mental diet. Matthew 6:22-23.

So happy to hear about more recorded playthroughs! I've really been enjoying them.

@Tom, why ask, you solved it perfectly already. As for the convention, you ll probably not be able to “exclude” people. And in 5 Years you will have 25k people.

+Chaz - I have had a lot of luck with card games for introducing people who are more traditional gamers to some newer games, Red7 and No Thanks for example. Also, cooperative games seem to be good at peeking interests as the idea of working together is a novel one to most traditional gamers. I recommend Forbidden Island as a great gateway co-op.

Nils...I've always thought of drafting as a mechanism that mitigated luck...granted, if you go into a game with the wish to have one, specific strategy, you may or may not be able to use that strategy based on the cards. With 7 Wonders, and others with a similar mechanic, you can at least see quickly whether or not your preferred strategy will be possible, and move to another if it is not.

I personally hate people that get upset at people for being offended and want to do away with political correctness. People are allowed to be offended and not like games with themes and art that is offensive. I understand that whaling is historical, but that doesn't mean we need a game about it. The holocaust happened, but it doesn't mean we need a cube pusher about running a concentration camp.

Tom, have you guys considered doing a kickstarter campaign to see just how many people are interested in attending a Dice Tower Con? It is possible you will sell enough tickets to populate the Orlando Convention Center.

Regarding Chaz's segment. I think non gamers feel intimated by modern board games because it's not what they have grown up with or are familiar with. They are worried about making the wrong decision and looking stupid. I think co-op's are great for this. I've used Pandemic with new people many times and the fact that it's all of us, against the game really puts people at ease. Everyone can talk about their moves and everyone shares the victory or defeat. Puts people at ease so they can just enjoy the game and then shows them there is a lot more options than the "old classics".

Chaz make sure that in your answer to the question you got to add a small caveat... unless they want to draw apples to apples, uno and dominoes out of the hat ;) :)
