i got a 2010 with the 4 cyl . This car is a true family car . It just does what its made to do, get from a to b, without calling attention to it self . And its a big car ! 25 TO 30 MPG.

Honda's are awesome cars because there so dam reliable. It must be a great feeling owning such a reliable car. Wish I could afford one myself. Would be a honour to watch my children grow up while still owning the same car. Imagine all the family holidays and fun times you could have. And when the other cars of the same age are in the scrapyard in the sky your still have your trusty old Honda. and all your old memories.

Honda Accord in my opinion remain one of the most reliable car on the road. As the completion with the family sedans in the tough crowd, honda accord remain very reliable. Both 4-cyl and V6 engine are still more refined and fuel efficient than most of the companies. Even though that Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, and Chevy Malibu are impressive on their own, the accord is still a standout.

I'm keeping my 2000 Accord forever. I seam-welded the body, installed a Type R seats, Japan-spec Accord-R H22 engine, coil-over suspension and 320mm 6-pot front brakes. I love it. I think the 2008 is ugly. The 2009 model looks much, much better, elegant, regal and sporty but it's about 250 lbs heavier than the 2000-model. Still, a better choice than a Camry or a more expensive Eurocar model, IMO.

@carnivore74 and carnivore, i think that's pretty cool. the turbo (which would HAVE to kick out more than that) will be nice.

but accord has a v-6 that kicks out 271 hp, and four cylinder that kicks out 190 hp.

IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, sonata should have done what subaru did...offer a four, a turbo four and a six. pretty much cover all bases.

They both are. There are, other companies that have sedans that are not boring.Like the Mazda 6, maybe Nissan Altima? Guess Honda and Toyota wanna target their buyers to be over 60 now! Looks like people will have to also spend more money and start buying European cars like BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, and various others for more sport sedan, than just a grocery getter, or family car!

I agree with you on that, lol! The sportiness of the Accord has been replaced with tired ass "aww just build it" styling!

Not only Honda, but Acura as well. And the biggest FAIL, was when they discontinued the Acura RSX, which was one of the best made cars they had! Even the TSX has gained weight! And back when the TSX fist came to the US, Honda motor company said they never planned to put a V6 in the TSX.
I was recently at an Acura Dealership, and asked them whey did Honda/Acura stopped making they RSX, he replied and said that Honda wanted Acura to be more luxury than sport.Looks like Honda is the same too.SMH!

@datkoolbrutha Have you even rode in the new TSX? Their little I-4 engines have a lot more power than people think and it's real fun to drive.

@sdlausen and, if you're going to go to Lexus as being a Toyota, Acura TL is pretty much seen as 'sportier' than the Lexus ES. In fact, up and down the sedan line, Lexus is seen as 'old school luxury' where Acura is seen as 'sporty'. Acura is even getting an 8 cyl for the RL flagship. Both are giving their target markets what they want. Acura is even bringing back a top line coupe in two years.

And I'm a fan of what Hyundai has done, but no hint they'll overtake honda any time soon.

@scoopmaster69 i know. my car is metallic silver and gets stares. this past weekend, one guy asked me, from across the street, what year my car was. that car is SLEEK!

honda builds what people want; toyota builds what people want. this is why they're at the top.

@JeremyFuhenstasser Do you know who Tiff is? Anyway, i'm not changing my BMW M5 anytime soon, and i've driven a crap load of sedans :)

I have a 2009 Accord Sedan EX-L V-6 W/Nav. It's pure luxury. It's top shelf over Toyota, and other MFG

@sdlausen it's your right to disagree with me on our opinions. we're at different stages in life (i'm married, have a little girl on the way, and don't 'race' my $30K plus car). I do four doors, you do two.

But facts are facts, and the Hondas (not Acuras) are actually 'more sporty' than their Toyota counterparts (for instance, any reviewer will say the Accord gives more road feel than the Camry...once described as the 'Walmart of Midsized Cars" by Car and Driver Magazine).

@MsTommyknocker it depends on what you're looking for. if you're looking for better gas mileage and a less expensive car, then the civic is better.

if one is a 6'3 man like me, and likes all the things that go along with a midsized/larger car, and they want more power, then the accord is better.

i love that 2 door version! gotta have one! lol
