2010 Honda Accord EX 2.4 Sedan 0-60 mph

I know it's slow, and a big downgrade from my last car, so don't give me a hard time about it haha. I just wanted to share this for anyone out there who is curious about the performance of the 8th generation Accord with the 4-cylinder engine and automatic transmission. This is the 190HP EX version which has a more aggressive exhaust system and a higher redline compared to the 177HP version found in the LX an LX-P. The EX's automatic transmission also has shorter gearing in 2nd, 3rd and 4th for better acceleration.

It's pretty slow (I counted 8.7 seconds 0 to 60), but it's better than I expected from such a heavy sedan with a small engine. I could probably trim a few tenths by actually launching the car (I just eased into the throttle on this run) and manually shifting at the redline, so I'll probably do that in another video in the future. What you need is a k&n performance air filter for more bottom end acceleration. It only costs around 50-60 dollars at your local auto parts store.

The Coupes are awesome too... mine's a sedan but I've rode in Coupes too. Can't go wrong with an 8th gen Honda Accord. They drive very well, are extremely comfortable, and safety is top notch. You're going to love it!

So many people say you shouldn't drive a car hard during break. I drove my Suzuki extremely hard for its life of 47k miles so far...and it purrs like new. I've also driven the V6 2010 Accord and I have to say, I was disappointed. I liked the 4cyl better. The V6 seemed to have too much lag in power from that weird Eco thing.

question, are the colors of the dashboard like that just white? or can it be different colors. does it come only on in that kind of a white lighting?

Mazda's engines aren't bad at all. Their latest I4's and V6's are some of the best in class. The 6i (I4) with the 6-speed auto is a bit faster than the Accord 2.4 auto, but when they both have a stick, the Accord is faster. Doesn't make any sense, but that's the way it is.

I like this car so far. It is sluggish off the line when you punch it, but it's fine for daily driving. I think it has plenty of passing power, and this is coming from a guy who was spoiled by a V6 Accord lol.

@Dillon1791 Tuning, different headers, intake, remapping of the engine, etc. You can do a lot with a well designed block. Why do you think we keep squeezing more and more horsepower out of the same displacement as 10 years ago?

The LX-S is about 117 lbs lighter if it's also an automatic. An intake won't get you 10hp. Any short ram is going to have heat soak and possibly lose horsepower on hot days. A fender well cold air will be better but then you risk hydro-lock and at best your maybe looking at 5 hp increase

That's plenty quick for such a large saloon. Right now I drive a '99 Accord V6 coupe, but I'll probably get a 4 cylinder for my next Accord, with a manual though.

seen a test where 170 hp altima cvt was faster than 190 hp accord to 60. accord gearing?

I wonder how many miles would be considered fully broken-in? I currently have 2600 on it, but some people tell me that it's still breaking in...

Yup everyone that's rode in my car has said nothing but good things about it. I just got it May 4th so undoubtedly hundreds more people will ride in it... maybe thousands.

@skittleschocolate LX-s is about 200 lb lighter, idk what your sister has, but I've measuered mine a lot of times and it does a 0 to 60 faster than this. I always get 7 seconds flat, which is pretty quick in it's class... Put a real nice intake in it and you'll get 200 hp which is competitive and maybe even faster than a lot of cars like, Si, GTI, and etc..

10 sec 0-60? That isn't what I got and that isn't what the owner of the car got either. 8.7 secs for 0-60 is what I got.
