Smash Burgers with a Lodge Cast Iron Grill Press

preview_player
Показать описание
One popular way to make a burger is to smash it! You roll your ground beef up into a ball, then smash it down on a hot cast iron pan with a grill press. We're taking a Lodge Cast Iron grill press out for a test drive by doing exactly that: smashing down some burgers in a hot cast iron skillet. What we end up with are some juicy, tasty cheeseburgers that beat the heck out of those frozen bubba burger patties from the store. The Lodge Cast Iron grill press is made entirely of cast iron, including the handle. This means the handle won't break from continuous use, and it's easy to season as well. It's yet another must-have kitchen item, and it's certainly better than a wooden handled grill press.

Smash burgers are my favorite way to make a burger at home. Make them super thin and get the edges nice and crispy. I usually add the onions to the burger before i smash it though so the onions get pressed into the meat, then add the rest on top. Good stuff.

Love the videos, quick question. Your wooden utensils, what's the secret to getting that nice seasoned brownish look at the bottom. Do you use it alot in grease? How and how often do you wash it? Thanks for any advice

What a good video this was, enjoyed it for sure I'm in the process of buying some land deep in the main woods on an old ATV trail so I think this will go well during the long weekend

IMO those onions could keep caramelizing for another 10 minutes.

Another great video Eric. I don't think you get enough kudos for the production value of your videos independent of the great cast iron and cooking content. Your edits and text and music all work together very nicely. Thanks.

I guess he forgot when he said he wasn't seasoning them and proceeded to add salt.

Nice press. I will have to use my Lodge bacon press. Burgers looked good. Would you go a 4 oz single burger or a double? Thank you for sharing your recipe with us. Stay safe and stay cool

First time I watched this, I got a fast food burger ad. I guess YouTube takes offensive stand on making burgers at home. Hahaha.

Well, I rarely eat fast food burgers. Too much disappointment for the price because homemade is always much better. And my burgers have flavor because I always add seasoning.

Yes, onions make burgers taste great. I also like adding peppers to mine.
