How to Rotate and Save Video in VLC Media Player

In this short tutorial I show you, how to rotate video in VLC player.

You need to go to Tools -> Preferences -> All (radio button) -> Stream output (group) -> Sout stream -> Transcode -> Video filter (section) -> Video transformation filter (set this checkbox). It seems that this enables the filter when at least doing video conversions. (Similarly, you probably need to set any other filter here to do other stuff during conversions too.) Then run the Convert process on files and they will be properly converted so other video players can play them. (Tested on VLC 3.0.20 Vetinari on linux.)

This doesn't work at all. I've tried many times. it either gets stuck on the overwrite prompt, or it tries to save the video but it only has audio with a blank screen. Both shotcut and vlc are comedically useless

Video transformation works but there is no audio in the rotated video!?

This doesn't work at all. No transformations applied. Also, you have to manually click the play button
