I am SO thrilled to share another treasured family recipe. This one is from my husband's family. A classic Cantonese dish, a popular takeout that especially loved by kids. My husband grew up eating this regularly. Hope you enjoy!

Cantonese cuisine is very popular in Peru and this particular dish is the origin of the very Peruvian "Lomo Saltado". We eat it with rice (sounds familiar?) and fried potatoes. If a fried egg is added then it is a "lomo saltado montado".

Thank you so much for this recipe! My 71-year-old dad grew up in Hong Kong but he said he can never get the dish quite like how his mom made it (limited cooking experience). I think I will cook this for him sometime soon to see if he likes it!

Your Cantonese pronunciation is almost perfect. The tones are great! Didn’t realize your husband is Cantonese.

Add me to the list of people impressed by your Cantonese pronunciation. Also, I love the mini tongs and whisk you have. They look so cute but also really functional

Just made this tonight for hubby and I, without the ketchup (he loathes ketchup, so I used a little extra oyster sauce and soy sauce instead). The baking soda trick is amazing 😍 ; he always complains about chewy meat and this was perfectly tender! Thank you for the recipe and the trick.

I made this recipe tonight. We loved it! But more importantly, I finally found out why the beef in the "Beef and ginger & green onion" at our favorite Chinese restaurant is so tender. Baking Soda and water trick!!! Thank you for sharing the trick!

The 1st time I tried this dish was at Sam Wo, a restaurant in San Francisco's China Town, when I was very young. I very much enjoyed it. So happy you shared this recipe with us. Can't wait to try it out with my own family.

Easy to make with simple accessible ingredients. Now that's already a winner.
