Everyone disagrees with the call, yet I remember that he's retaliating for the slide against in Tejada in Game 2 of the NLDS? No one remembers?

I believe he was intentionally trying to either hit Utley or scare him. Remember when he tried to hit Escobar? He can hold a grudge

If they gave him a warning he would have probably thrown at him the next pitch lol.

syndergaard purposely missed him to send a message and the mets are basically giving him a pass that's y utley and the Dodgers didn't get upset cuz they new exactly wat the mets were doing to get passed the situation. syndergaard has excellent control to miss him

Right call by the umpire. Throwing out Cindygaard will prevent a need for retaliation by the Dodgers.

Utley does not strike me as a dirty player at all. It was a bad injury in the NCDS, but I don't think he was being dirty. Sometimes I think New Yorkers need to (in best New York accent) "forget about it."

Guess New York might need to make another Utley card board cut out to punch for hitting a grand slam today.

So, who's ordering pizza tomorrow?

a warning should have been issued. this is what makes watching baseball exciting. it builds drama. that ump should have been thrown out.

A "professional" pitcher SHOULD have better control than a little leaguer.

as a long time fan of the Phillies and chase Utley. syndergaard should of not if been thrown out... but damn, a 99mph pitch to the backside would hurt like a bitch. What's up with the fans in the crowd saying "hit him", I know it's because of the slide but it's fuel for Utley's fire and man did he create an inferno today

Don't the Mets realize that everytime they throw at The Man, he SODOMIZES them? Bahaha! Watching Chase go deep twice was epic. Dead silence....

I saw this and listened to the announcers swear up and down that the umpire was being an idiot. The way I see it, everyone knew there was history from last year between the two teams that wasn't too nice, and even knowing that, Synderguard threw behind him anyway. I'm actually tired of hearing people say, "Why didn't he give them a warning instead, wah wah wah."

This is professional baseball. If you're gonna throw behind someone or hit someone with a pitch, expect to be tossed. It just goes to show the umpires you don't have control of where you're throwing the ball. These balls are flying over the plate at 95 mph and if they're being used to intimidate or injure batters, maybe the pitcher should go back to the minors where he belongs.

Granted once in a while you might make a mistake and accidentally hit someone, but for fans to sit there and expect the umpire to be able to magically know wither or not it was intentional or not, and make the call accordingly is just ridiculous.

I think Synderguard got what he deserved.

He could of giving a warning but at the same time that pitch was way behind the player. l am just sorry Chase isnt w the Phils anymore but he deserved to find a new place to play.
