Argentines are one of my favorites. I always wanted one and finally got the opportunity to get one a couple of years ago. I will say though, I got her as a baby and that animal hated my guts. She didn't just hiss, she hissed like letting air out of a tire. And she most certainly was not afraid to strike or bite. I've never been so unnerved by an animal so small. Unfortunately the first couple of months I kept trying to find things to distract her in order to work with her, and basically just made her feel like she was angry at two things instead of one lol. But, once I just accepted that wasn't going to work and just had to start working directly with her and handling her more often, she did begin to calm down. It was a slow process but She is now like the most curious / inquisitive and sweetest snake that I own. She can still hiss a little bit but it's not very common and it's really only if you have to grab her from above to get her out. She basically just doesn't like feeling like she's being pinched or squeezed or grabbed up from above. she's still relatively small so it's not like it's easy to kind of just slide your hand under her like you can with a bigger snake. So I usually have to just kind of wait until I can get my hand under her head and kind of lift her up and get her onto my hand that way. But it's understandable, since she's still a bit small and predators come at these animals from above that they don't really want to be grabbed that way. But honestly even if she does his now, she just opens her mouth for like half a second and barely even makes a noise

Can't wait till she's a more sizable adult. I love the way they're colors changes they grow, and in my opinion it's kind of a cooler darker looking snake than some of the morphs. If only for the fact that it gets that way naturally instead of with a genetic mutation

If you would do a day in the life video of actually letting people see how these boas are when opening tubs or cleaning or getting them out of enclosures so they could see how you interact with them and tricks you can use for cage aggression and such it would probably be one of your highest viewed videos you have ever had. Not to mention it would help out a lot of your viewers or people who have heard horror stories of getting these out of their enclosures.

Man, I took about 15 years off from the hobby and to my surprise I come back and all the prices have absolutely shot through the roof. It's crazy bro! I just about lost it when I saw how much Argentine boys had gone up to. The last ones I bought were in 2009 for like a hundred or 150 bucks at most. All of them have gone up. All species. Hogs, black anything, locale anything, anacondas, etc etc it's unreal. It's weird how the pandemic and boredom changed the hobby in such a big way. At least financially. I'm glad to be back though 👍

Thank you so much Brian.
I’ve recently got love into Boas and your channel helped me to learn about Boas and fascinated more deeply into them.
Eventually I decided to adopt 24cb baby Suriname boa!😂
I’ll keep my eyes on to your new videos and enjoy you and your boas 😊

Great video! It’s a shame that Longicauda boas aren’t really appreciated here in Germany or Europe. I get a lot of people contacting me about my offspring, but as soon as they realize these aren’t priced like Colombian Boa imperators, they get upset. Some even call them ugly, which is honestly frustrating because these boas are incredible animals.

Hi Brian. Have you ever taken a food bite from a fully grown adult? I mean like a bite and coil/hold. How bad was it?
