Celtic Ultras - Best Moments

Показать описание
Celtic Glasgow is one the most successful and supported clubs in Scotland and together with their city rivals, Rangers FC, they have the best and biggest Ultra scene in the country and probably also in the UK. Celtic supporters are also known for having a lot of empathy towards Ireland and it is very common to see Irish flags among Celtic fans. One of the reasons for this is that the founder of Celtic was Irish.
Celtic plays at the Celtic Park, which has the capacity for around 60000 people and their Ultras stay in the North corner of the stadium. Celtic Park is very well known for the extremely passionate and intense atmosphere that Celtic supporters create on big matches.
There are two groups at Celtic: the Green Brigade and Bhoys Celtic. The Green Brigade was formed in 2006 by ex-members of the Jungle Boys (a group that is not active anymore) and is the most important and biggest one in Celtic (and probably also in the UK). The Green Brigade is known for their loud and enthusiastic support, nice choreographies and good pyro shows (which is something not very easy to pull off regularly in the UK because of the huge repression that there is towards Ultras there). This group is also known for their anti-fascists and anti-racists politics and is common to see them displaying political tifos and messages. In 2013 Celtic tried to disband the group after some incidents that took place at an away match against Motherwell where some members of the Green Brigade damaged the seatings of the stadium and threw some pyro onto the pitch.
The other group of Celtic, the Bhoys, was officially formed in 2015, mostly by ex-members of the Green Brigade and also stays in the North stand, but in the upper part. This group is said to have a bit of a different mentality than Green Brigade, doing more often actions on the streets against rival firms. Bhoys have a big friendship with the subgroup Nautecia from the Virage Auteuil of PSG and good relations with the lads from Livorno.
Celtic biggest rival is Glasgow Rangers, whom they play the extremely famous Glasgow Derby or “Old firm Derby”, as it is known. Celtic and Rangers are the two most supported clubs in Scotland and also probably have the two best Ultra scenes in the UK. It is also important to mention that the hatred between Celtic and Rangers goes beyond football, since historically the supporters of both clubs have also been separated in religion and politics. Traditionally, Celtic fans are Catholics and against the UK government, while Rangers supporters are considered to be Protestants and pro-UK. These facts, have contributed over the years to the increasing of hatred between the two clubs and their fans.
