A full sapphire sub would warrant a fully decorated movement, which is not Rolex's forté...

Rolex has grown really boring over time by not doing anything new, no innovation, and just retiring things, this would be crazy if they had the balls to do anything like this but Rolex just won’t

I wish they would bring back yellow gold hands and markers.

I personally would hate to see Rolex, or any other self-respecting "tool" watch brand, engage in producing such gaudy, frippery (such as a sapphire or even an iced out watch) for their gauche customers. Yes, I know Rolex has delivered "iced" watches. I've noticed those languishing in the 2nd hard market when the owner wants to dump their poor decision. Leave such products the classless, albeit expensive, brands that cater directly to the gauche customers; brands such as Hublot, Richard Mille, Jacob and Co, and Ulysses Nardin to name few serve that purpose already. In my opinion, very few, if any of the contemporary products from any of these named watchmakers will survive the test of time as objects of worth beyond the price tag that was originally paid. Many of these brands produce what are merely, to my eye, Invictas with real watchmaking within their gaudy cases. Ironically, I do respect their products to push the limits of material capability and their actual watchmaking/engineering (such as overcoming the barriers to produce the watch cases/bracelets), even though they result in products that serve no practical purpose or application and are only in the here and now. Rather these products are for those customers that are simply attempting to flex with their conspicuous and supporting crass commercialism they have bought into. And that's coming from a guy that can appreciate Richard Mille's engineering in producing watches that withstand the rigors of g-forces they may be subjected to such as within F1 or tennis. But that's not why they are bought... in 99% of the sales. Merely as a status symbol. Same with Hublot. I actually like the classic Fusion, but would not ever buy one at the prices asked. Maybe at $2K -$3K.

look at the hype Omega enjoys with the white dial speedy… what I’M lusting for is a white dial Sub!

It never matters what new model Rolex might produce because almost nobody can actually buy it new at an AD anyway. You’ll sit on a phony wait list for years to possibly maybe eventually get a watch that is technically inferior to many others that are half the price simply to claim the pleasure of becoming another billboard for their ubiquitous branding, nothing more.

Don't drop it. Now someone needs to make a movement in sapphire.

Pfft. That's like G-Shock not making another GA-2100.

This was a fun video. I'm curious what other concepts you come up with.

I hope you'll be feeling better soon.

My watch was purchased 2 years ago from MaMaCoo and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.

Sounds ridiculous but it actually looked better in the renders than what I I imagined.

Zelos is currently making a full sapphire watch, the Mirage Sapphire for $8900.

I tried on a Hublot chronograph that was all sapphire last year. It was actually pretty nice. But the retail was 72, 000. 😢

I think a datejust bubble dial would be more appropriate for a see through(sapphire) rolex.

If they want to make something fresh and new that much why dont they try a complication watch like perpetual calendar or a relaunch from their old models like AP did. I dont know new rolex is just boring but i like the 1908 though that was great.

Also i wish you get better fast man.
