The general was killed by a sniper in a ground attack. It is not a claim, I believe they even announced the funeral for the general in Russia. As for the attack, the Russians did make a push but were stopped. It is not a "huge claim", as we can see the column did not move much closer today, but we do see another avenue of attack being attempted from the east and west of Kyiv to encircle Kyiv. The southern front is doing a lot better than the north which can see seen by the ground gained. The Ukrainians are putting up a hell of a fight and the Russians seen to have lost some credibility with how this war is going. Many experts on Russia seem very surprised at this invasion. Some reports of some Russian soldiers giving up is starting to seem more credible as well.
