Some investors might be surprised to see Warren Buffett talking about the debt ceiling, given that it is currently such an important issue right now for the United States, but considering that it has also been a big debate in the past, Buffett has already had the opportunity to offer his perspectives on the issue.

I feel like Charlie's crunching sounds offer all the insight we need into his opinion on the matter. 😁

Charlie (99 years) is living proof that candy is good for you. Especially if you own the candy company.

Charlie’s non stop snacking, lips smacking, chewing with his mouth open — but he doesn’t miss a beat in the rare moments he speaks up to clarify or help Warren. 😂😂😂😂

The Rich don't mind high debt, because it causes inflation, and when inflation happens, it devalues your minimum wage, which means the rich get to pay lower wages without making it obvious. They also have so much money inflation isn't really bothering them all that much.

Charlie is a boss, he gives no shits! “Both parties are trying to compete to see who can be the most stupid and they keep topping one another” accurate today.

I love that Charlie doesn’t seem to have any reservations about choosing _now_ to eat his peanut brittle.

I am revising my diet to include a healthy dose of brittle daily so I can make it to 99 and be that sharp

I love it when people who have more money than the GDP of most countries tell the rest of us how great insurmountable debt is for the regular folks. I value their investment advice and nothing else. When the elite are in charge of monetary policy, the policy will benefit the elite. Berkshire Hathaway is not an eleemosynary corporation.

I simply wish the federal govt would actually pass a budget like every other business in America has to do.

Warren's comments on the debt ceiling and the United States' ability to service its debt are pretty much the verbatim thesis of Modern Monetary Theory. I wish more people understood such concepts.

It’s hard to concentrate on Buffett’s reasoning because I can’t stop watching the other guy gobble up the snacks.

I guess when you are that rich - you no longer care what other people think of you.

These debt ceiling crises are really starting to get old. We really have no choice but to raise it, but politicians seem to love to play games with it to try to get what they want.

Federal debt limit, rather than a hard ceiling, in terms of percentage of GDP. Now, that makes more sense.

I agree, the whole Debt Ceiling debacle is like a Basketball game that after an hour of play there are 10 seconds left on the clock and both teams are tied at 100 points. But, this is where the similarity ends as the lights go out and the buzzer sounds and both teams will claim they scored the winning basket.
