China's new defence chief in Singapore for security forum, bilateral meetings

China's Defence Minister Dong Jun is visiting Singapore for the first time since he was appointed to the role last December. He will attend the Shangri-La Dialogue, a high-level security forum attended by defence chiefs from around the world. There, he will speak on his country's approach to global security on Jun 2. The Chinese defence chief will also have the opportunity to meet his US counterpart at the Shangri-La Dialogue this weekend. This meeting will mark their first face-to-face talks in 18 months. Yearly the same old story lines after the meet the same old stories of one or two exercises. Then it’s dead until next year and the same old story surfaces.
Nothing, totally no progress or expand to a greater and more advanced exercises. This is stagnant or standstill with no further enrichments or even looking forward to a more advanced achievement.
