She's such a loving and kind person, not only care about herself but also for all the other people she loves.

As a mother, I want you to know something: As a parent, seeing our children accomplish and thrive and have things - especially things we don’t have and couldn’t give you - this gives us joy, comfort, hope and pride in your success. Look at what you can do, because of the love and support of your parents! You achieved so much. I’m so proud of you it brings tears to my eyes. Not just what you are accomplishing for yourself, but for what you’re doing for others. Everyone benefits from one person’s struggles, strength and empathy. Many people are watching you. They are contemplating what you share in your experiences. You aren’t just an influencer, you’re an inspiration. Keep loving and know that by getting you are able to give. That’s priceless and it’s not bound by regions or language barriers.
Hugs 🤗 ❤

My first culture shock was seeing so many elders enjoying their lives, while back in my country you'd rarely see an older person smile, let alone sitting in a cafe just chilling, unimaginable

This is such an important shared feeling among people who migrate from the Global South and it's so validating to see you give voice to it on your platform for the rest of the world to hear. Thank you!

Immigrant guilt is tough! You’re constantly split between wanting a better life for yourself and feeling guilty you can’t give your family the same, sometimes it feels like you’ve abandoned them. Just remember that your family is happy to see you happy in your life, they love you and want what’s best for you. Being appreciative of your privileges is okay, and enjoying your new life is okay, you’re not a bad person bc of it.

This is basically like survivor's guilt but everyone's still alive. Just make sure you understand that you made this scary step into a whole new world on your own and faced anxiety bravely. This is why you deserve what you have. And now work towards bringing these accomodations snd amenities to your family and friends.

I'm inmigrant too, in Netherlands, and deal with this guilt too. But it's important to remember the big sacrifices, homesickness and sometimes loneliness or even discrimination that we face everyday for being far away from our home country. You Rock girl, you work so hard for your achievements and you are an ambassador for both countries. Keep strong, you've got this ❤️

This is so touching. But as a mother I know you having these things bring nothing but joy to your parents even if they don't say so

When I was young I worked my ass off, did everything I could, and my father provided raising me and my sibling, despite himself being the one to raise us. One day my sibling moved out and it was the first time in a decade he cried. He was so relieved, because my sibling was finally able to live by themselves and be able to live a good life. He didn't care he lived in a run down part of town, he just wanted the most for us. He could live with nothing and be happy. He just wanted us to be happy. Even though my sibling never understood why, but I got it. It was his job as a father to provide and take care of us. And he did.

Here's the thing, trust me your family maybe in a worse position but never doubt for a minute they aren't happy for you and the last thing they want is for you to feel anything but joy. Don't worry they maybe missing out but trust me they care more about you as much as you do them. That's family. Don't stay up dear when you would never ask them the same. If you want them to live in Germany at one point, then work toward it. Until then just know they are likely jsut happy that you're doing well.

This is exactly how I felt when I left Brazil. And I can never tell my family I feel this way because they sacrificed a lot for me to be the one who got out and it would just feel ungrateful
