I do routinely fly off a 2600 ft grass runway with tall, tall pines on both ends, so far only with my instructor. We do everything in this video, and the 1956 C-172 climbs like a rocket. Great video - great info. Only thing I am doing wrong is to allow plane to stop after aligning with runway. Easy fix. Stay safe.

2:31 well, that's a little dramatic

Instructions unclear, I pitched up too far while aiming at the redwood trees at the end of the runway and had a tail strike😳

Why should we apply the break when flying? Can someone explain me the reasoning?

The proper take off on wet soft grass is hand/foot brake takeoff. Throttle then release brakes.

More bullshit!! Who routinely flies out of a soft field after making all those assessments? I had no choice but to land a 172 in one. On departure I followed " full back pressure and 10% of flaps" Half way down my useful run I realized I had to drop the nose and raise the flaps to clear the fence. Instinct plays a role in a pilots decisions!!
