I came to this realization about two months ago. I use the Autofiber Double Flip wash towels. They’re nice and plush but have a pocket that allows you to flip it inside out giving you four sides for washing. A three pack gives me more than enough sides for your typical vehicle. And this method gives me one less bucket to have to move around as I work my way around the car. It’s a win for me and the customer.

My vehicle is currently at the detailer. I had the ceramic coating applied today, along with minor paint correction. Waiting 2 days before I pick it up and then 2 weeks to cure before doing any maintenance on the finish/wheels/glass. It's a brand new vehicle that I drove off the showroom floor last week. I was going to use the 2 mitt/2 bucket system, but the idea of using a 1 microfiber cloth and getting 8 fresh quarters to wash the vehicle is simple genius. lol Subscribed.

I use this method for any gloss black ceramic coated vihcles I’ve done or if it has extrramly soft paint. I will say that it is way more important to have a good pre rise to knock off 80-90% of the grime before doing this process.

That is one of my favorite colors on an automobile to date. A lot of manufacturers are using that battleship gray color on their cars now days, whereas ten years ago you rarely saw it on a car at all. I've been using the multiple mitt/microfiber cloth method for about two years now and it works great and you don't have to use two buckets anymore, unless like you do here with the plain water in the second bucket. I just throw the spent towels into a clean empty bucket and then they all go into the washing machine afterwards so they are clean for the next wash.

This is probably the most efficient way I have seen this method used, tons of sides to use. I switched from one mitt/two bucket washes to one bucket multi-mitt washes about a year ago using 8-10 rag co chenille mitts w/ flipping sides. I have noticed about 75-90% less hazing; it becomes really apparent after several washes and the paint still looks glassy. This is also just washing on a sealed car, not coated. My experience has backed up your conclusions here, great video I think you are onto something.

Love, love, love your videos, mate! I admire your thoughtful attention to detail as you wash our lovely cars!

This particular approach contains contradictions to your typical attention to detail.

Power washing dirty microfiber towels, to clean them, on the hood of the car … the concept is sound, but surely this is better done on another flat surface to avoid the dirty towel contact with the car that you’ve worked so hard to minimize, nay?

This is a great approach. I usually wash two cars at a time in my driveway, and I like using 8 of the Microfiber Mitts on each car. I prefer to run the the mitts through the washing machine by themselves, so if anything I feel better about running a decent sized washer load at the end of the day. I think once the Microfiber Mitts start falling apart I might switch to using the Autofiber flip towels -- they're easier to hold onto than a standard folded towel, and a little easier to manage flipping sides and remembering what sides you've used, , plus you get (4) 8x8 surfaces with each towel. Love your channel. STEK review and pros and cons to PPF were great videos too. Thanks!!!

Merry Christmas!
I have been using this 1 bucket/multiple mf method for the longest and I must say this works much better and truly eliminates the risk of putting a contaminated washing medium back on the paint. imo, this is the best method. Great video!

Always love your content. I was curious for your water do you mix your own resin like in a CR spotless system or do you have a tank delivery service? For a hobbiest like me mixing my own resin probably makes more sense from a cost perspective. Maybe it would be interesting enough for a future video on your water filtering, pressure washer and hose attachments.

I have a lot of sun to contend with on my south facing garage so it means I'm either washing cars very early or very late in the day.

Thank you for this content and effort!

I’ve been using this method for quite a while. I use Optimum No Rinse and have used this method since using it, only thing I add is another MF towel that is wrung out pretty well and use it as kind of a pre-drying towel with a drying agent, then fully dry with my drying towel.

So i just wrapped my car, do you have a video on how you should wash and what products to use when washing a wrapped car? thanks.

What is the preferred way, PPF or ceramic coating? I like ceramic as it repels water more and make it easier to clean. In your opinion, whats the best way to protect the car?

Merry Christmas man this is a idea I haven’t thought 💭 of to use my eagle edge less towels instead of the expensive wash mitts I buy from microfiber madness! Because each wash mitt cost 26.00 vs the towels 🙌 awesome video

If you're going through all this trouble to avoid scratching the paint, does it not worry you using the hood as a washboard to pressure wash dirty rags? Haha. I'm sure it's fine since they've been sitting on soap, but the thought still crossed my mind. :p Great videos by the way, you're awesome. Especially how you answer so many questions in the comments. Keep up the good work.

Can I use the Costco Yellow Microfiber Towels to do this method to wash the car paint? Are they good enough and safe enough on the paint? (Kirkland Signature Ultra Plush Microfiber Towel, Yellow, 16 in x 16 in, 36-count)

Merry Christmas Evan! I will definitely try this method come spring. Going to be getting the Active2.0 soon and some more products from the Status Store. I’m also looking forward to the updated full wash video

Looks like a nice way to wash. However, I would maybe caution against rinsing the towels against the car paint. For example, if there are small hard particles, etc. on the other side of the microfiber towel, you are now forcing them against the hood even though you are cleaning the other side of the towel. Might be a very low risk but something to keep in mind.

Definitely a good concept! I've been wanting to try this method out. I think it could be a time saver as well. What GSM microfiber towels do you think would be best to use?

Can one use G Techniq C2V3 instead of Wet Coat or HyDro2?
