Officer video shows fatal shooting of Ta’Kiya Young

(1 Sep 2023) Ohio authorities have released bodycam video showing police officers fatally shooting Ta’Kiya Young in her car. The 21-year-old from Columbus was pronounced dead shortly after the Aug. 24 shooting outside a grocery store in Blendon Township. (Sept. 1)

Why a pregnant woman needs to go out and steal a bunch of alcohol is beyond me. Then she assaulted the cop with her vehicle? The baby, the store, the community, and the cop were the victims here. This woman was a menace willing to endanger all around her for anything she wanted. Even a bottle of liquor. Sad day indeed.

don't steal over and over, don't get a restraining order against you, don't fail to show up for a warrant, don't drive a car with no license plate, don't park in the handicapped spot, don't steal liquor so you can drink while pregnant, don't commit crimes while you have young dependent children, don't refuse to get out of your car when the police order you to over and over, and most of all don't try to run over a policeman.

If your going to harp on the fact that she was pregnant, then don’t leave out the fact she had no tags on her car, she was parked backwards in a handicapped spot to get away quicker with the liquor she stole. Or just leave out those facts and just admit she drove at a cop with no regard to his life or the life of the baby she was carrying.

Any normal person wouldn’t think in their right mind to drive forward. Any innocent person wouldn’t think to drive forward. To think that trying to run an officer over is your best case scenario is a clear indication of complete and utter idiocy and incompetence. Even if she didn’t shoplift a thing, all she had to to was step out of the car and prove that no unpaid store merchandise was in her car and that would be that. The fact that there’s even a lawsuit surrounding this screams cash grab and to be honest, as sad and unfortunate as it is that she has left this world, it was deserved.

Ultimately her actions caused her demise and could have been prevent simply by not stealing alcohol while pregnant & not trying to run over a cop. We can’t live in an ordinary society if there are no consequences for actions, people are also getting tired of thieves because so many ppl are stealing that the stores pass the losses on to the consumer.
