I love my little 3080 i got a month or two after launch for $630 😅. Plays everything i want perfectly at 1440p Max graphics

I'd take that 3080 10gig over the 6800xt

Would've been nice to see the 3080 using DLSS2 to see the framerate improvement. 😀

If you bought it for 4k you got screwed. I paid $850 for a 3070 ti on launch thinking it would be okay for 4k lol little did I know it wasnt even ready for 1440p. Been loving my 6950 xt though.

I have a 3080 10gb and while it does just fine for all my regular games, the 10gbs does show its limitation in VR. I plan though to possibly upgrade to the 5series but we'll see.

I've had mine for over a year, apart from the temperatures being a bit higher (thanks Zotac AMP Holo), I like it. Will try and keep it for another year or two before the 5080 comes out, so I can buy that instead, unless AMD provides a killer offering.

I know your diablo 4 crashed from vram limit on 4060. My 3060 is getting up there despite 12gb using over 8gb at 1080p ultra textures. Looking for minimum 16gb on my next card as newer games will use more memory

You can always turn down the settings a bit and bump your frames up.

Will be good even in 2024. I see no problem at least at 1440p. The card never was made for 4K anyways. And the fact Raytracing is so demanding FSR 3 will help the RTX 3080 even more. If Nvidia greed did not enable DLSS 3 on 30 series just to sell 40 series, AMD will do it for Nvidia helping even Nvidia 30 series users. You see Nvidia tactics are truly anti-consumer at this point even for their own buyers. So who still has 30 series cards do not be fooled by Nvidia anti-consumer tactics and wait for FSR 3 with FG. Save your money for now and wait for next gen GPUs in 2024. Be smart people.

A little concerning that you mention people upgrading from an RTX3080 10GB to a 4070 12GB🤪 ….. not really an upgrade imo🧐. My opinion only.
I’m usually an 80-class buyer myself over the years since the GTX680 GPU, and I wouldn’t swap my 3080 for anything less than a 16gb vram GPU these days with how demanding newer titles are getting, but I’m happy to drop quality settings from ultra to high or Med-high to get much better performance on the 3080 which has 2GB less than the 4070 & 4070Ti (epic fails imo by Nvidia💩🤦🤦‍♀) and still offers DLSS 2 upscaling which’ll help a lot at 1440p.

I too had the 3080 from launch day. Was fine 2+ years ago... and still works great. I'm on the tuf 4090 now and still have the 3080, probalby make a cheaper build with it as a backup PC. Great card for me💖

Just got a 3080 for the equivalent of $400. With the FSR frame generation mod I can get 60fps on cyberpunk with Ray tracing on maximum, path tracing and reconstruction at 4K. It’s incredible.

i been playing racket and clank on my TUF 3080, absolutely no issues at 1440p DLDSR to 4k with DLSS quality on optimized settings, visually pretty much on par with 4k high settings. I dont see a need to spend triple for 4080, and on titles without DLSS or vram limitations, 4070 will perform worse than 3080 so i dont think thats an upgrade

Sure, lets use one game which eats VRAM for no reason, is half not working, and lets crank all up and observe. LOL. no

I play R&C @1440p fine with my strix 3080 bought December 2020. DLSS2.0 Quality was in use from the jump so never a problem. I was waiting to see if the 7900XTX went under 900 but it's time to Sh!t or get off the pot. Generation is half over. I may still pull the trigger on an MSI card for $959.

I have an EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3080 (10 Gb), whilst it is still a good card, it has nowhere near the longevity it could have had, IF Nvidia had put 16 Gb of VRAM in it for example. As it stands, it cannot play games at 1440p at the visual standard I am happy with. Dont get me wrong I am not saying it looks terrible by any means, however I prefer to play games at high settings at a minimum. With UE5 set to become a more common engine and most developers becoming lazier at optimizing games for less than 16 Gb of VRAM, I have finally bit the bullet and upgraded to an Asus Tuf OC 7900XTX, which I got for €1140 with the premium edition of Starfield (that I was going to purchase anyways). So its €1040 for my GPU upgrade, which was roughly what my 3080 cost during the crypto mining boom in 2020. I would have had to spend another €220 to get the Asus Tuf OC 4080, which I could have done but I'm not happy with Nvidia and their attitude to gamers and so I'm voting with my wallet. First time not getting an Nvidia card.

Originally when I bought my 3080 I had hoped it would cruise through 2 generations with relative ease, it wasn't to be.

Just bought a brand new 3080 for 370$ off eBay, now that 3080 hate is at its peak. Threw a nice undervolt on it shaving 80 watts off the power draw. 500 core underclock, 500 mem overclock.

The 12GB version is great, I dont see any reason to change my one.

I dunno what settings you have on, I play this game maxed settings at 1440p at get a rock solid 100+ fps with my 7900XTX
