Photographer here
The samsung is showing green and purple because while it is taking that night shot, what its actually doing is taking multiple shots and stitching them together to make out the detail.
Because phone sensors are small, the less light there is, the more noise there is going to be (noise is usually green and purple colored), therefore smartphone companies denoise the images so much, that it leaves some of that green and purple tint to the photo
That is intensified when a night shot is taken

Try it again with the scene optimizer off- that would prove the colours were added by the s24 ultra

for everyone saying that Samsungs photo's are fake, you can turn off the photo optimization. Every phone brand uses optimization. If you turn it off, you can see a difference. So the moon photo's are not fake

Bro went nuts over the noise and Calling it fake is a bold accusation lol

Firstly that's not an s24,

secondly, it is just because the phone sensor is very small and the exposure time was also nowhere near that of the pro camera. That's why there was a lot of noise and grain. Those green and purple colors got introduced due to the extreme noise reduction the phone needed to run in order to make the photo edible.

Thats just poorly reduced digital noise…

The fact people try to "expose" samsung but failing miserably

These colors were mainly created by the small sensor size of the phone and the iso

Fun fact: Purple doesnt exist, its purely a hallucination of the mind.

These colors are from noise after denoising process. If you take proper long exposure in manual mode they should be gone

My phone is cheap and has a really insensitive camera. Whenever I take a long exposure of the night sky, there's always these green and purple blobs in the picture when I turn up the brightness. I believe it's just a camera artifact and not added in. You can make sure by capturing in raw

Did some astrophotography with my Samsung S20. You need to use the pro mode and do some adjustments yourself. Basically high shutter speed and low iso. I do it for 30 seconds and play around with the iso. I still get a decent photo with less noise (only has green tint). Given it is a phone that came out in 2019 i'd say it's pretty good. In one shot i even captured a moving airplane making it looks like a shooting star 😆

That's not the S24 Ultra. Plus, I don't think it's adding those colors on purpose. I think it's trying to use scene optimizer to get the best picture but it's dark so it doesn't end up very good. It might not even be due to scene optimizer, could just be the phone trying to process low light with such a small image sensor.

Dalaxies don't naturally have those colors
and most of the pretty dust is only visible in infrared.
Most space photos are colories according to specific specifications, mapping ir frequences onto the visual spectrum. So even if you took a photo of a galaxy you wouldn't see much. You would need a modified camera for full spectrum photograpy to see the frequencies. If you ever see similar hues of green and purple its most likely an aritfact. The same colors show up on jpegs.

First of all: u sneaky Boi ain't slick this is the s23.
Second of all: samsung literally tells you it uses AI. Be surprised by the colors looking a little off...
Third of all: phone camera sensors are small. That means there is gonna be a lot of noise. Noise is actually colored green and purple. The phone edits the noise out to make your photo look smoother and at the colors will stay.
And fourth: you could just edit the colors out if you feel like it. Or would you rather keep it this way, since the photo looks better anyway?

The ISO on S24 is automatic and is usually set to the highest during darker environment. Try same with the DSLR and set your iso to high and see the results .
