As someone whos worked in the service industry for 15 years, I would say the only thing that wasnt accounted for was the day of the week. When Ive worked my restaurants, Ive noticed that I got a higher tip percentage in the beginning of the week vs towards the end (Theory being that Friday was payday and someone who needed to wait until Friday didnt have enough money to begin with and didnt tip as well). I wonder how that played a part in this experiment

As a researcher, I have to note that this experiment wasn't double-blinded. For example, Kari could have been personally happier with the larger breasts, and potentially influencing the customers via demeanor rather than breast size. But as a human being who's seen this happen a million times in a million different contexts, I'm pretty sure it was the boobs and that this would have turned out the same even if it was double-blinded.

I figured this out when I was 16. I did the heavy lifting in a coffee shop, the cute young ladies worked the customers. Since we pooled tips, it worked out for everyone. They didn't have to pick up heavy/ nasty stuff, and I didn't have to deal with customers.

I have worked jobs where tips are common, and tips can vary a lot day by day. It would take a lot more test samples for this to be accurate.

For all those saying so many variables were not accounted for, yes this experiment definitely is limited. However, this is really the kind of thing we don't need to study to know the outcome 😅

The fact they were 100% aware of the situation and handled it so damn well deserves a trophy. It was a mature answer to simping, creating their own humor and taking it lighthearted.
