3:12 struck with me.

In 3 years I went from being in an abusive relationship that made me suicidal to getting a great scholarship at a uni, and now a well-paying internship at a successful company. Also quit smoking pot after a habit of daily consumption with my friend.

Meanwhile the friend stayed the same way, smokes an oz or two of pot a week, and dropped out of school - just smokes pot and plays videogames.

It's really depressing to see friends too deep in their own shit to even see that they are in it.

Someone once told me that all motion is relative: you can move further away by standing still. Sometimes we need to leave behind something dear to us to go forward. Sometimes we didn't even realize we could live without it until we give it up. The right state of mind has (in my experience) given me perspective and gotten me through it all.

Listening to this as I prepare for full time school. Got no family to back me up so I'll have to find a job that will pay my rent and I'll have to be super frugal but if I can graduate it will all be worth it.

Video games are a good example of a habit that can hold you back, and many are unwilling to sacrifice.

I know when I spend hours playing games, I am giving up hours where I could be studying. It’s up to me to make the decision to give up what I want to do for what I should do

What Jordan said at the end makes me think that the biggest sacrifice humankind can make is taking responsibility for the world we exist in and not just for ourselves.
