join us on the adventure of veganizing traditional Jewish Passover dishes the way Eric remembers them from childhood. this video was definitely some kind of wild ride, but it was worth it! we attempted to make vegan brisket (with jackfruit and mushrooms), vegan matzo ball soup (a few times), and we rounded it out with charoset.

In the UK where I'm from passover food is all about the passover baking- cinnamon balls, coconut pyramids and macarons. Also matzo matzo brie for breakfast :)

I know absolutely nothing about traditional Passover foods or the traditions surrounding the holiday itself so this is super super interesting! And I loved the fact you involved Eric's dad! Every year I am trying to recreate at least a few Easter dishes my family makes and it is always a labour of love (not always worth it dough XD).
Anyways, I am glad you took as along the journey and enjoyed the final results!

So much fun to watch! Yes, I unfortunately tried Just Egg this year (flaxseed egg last year) and the matzo ball disintegrated! I will need to try this method next year. I recommend potato kugel, matzo lasagna, and chocolate covered matzo. These veganized recipes are crowd pleasers for my non-vegan family. Good Pesach!

I always add almond flour to my Matza balls half half with the Matza meal, it gives them a really nice consistency.

It took me quite a while to find a matzo ball recipe that we were happy with and that tasted like what we remembered them tasting like. I actually use tofu in mine. We like ours very heavy and dense lol. I'm definitely going to try your recipe as well. We really enjoyed your video! Thank you for sharing. We appreciate all the hard work you put into this and all your videos. Happy Passover from our family to yours!

If you've never tried it, make some dessert matzo as well! The recipes are super easy to veganize 😋

Our family tradition is to put matzo balls in every soup. My favourite is tomato cabbage soup with matzo balls.

I make a similar charoset recipe by first blending dates and walnuts into a paste. Then I combine that with diced apples, red wine, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Best if you let it sit in the fridge overnight.
