Brilliant. Great to see young people with that sort of enthusiasm and talent.

I would hire that kid right now if he's already making those things at that age.
Although at 13 you can't technically hire him just yet I suppose, haha
Just absolutely brilliant. The young guy can already be very proud of himself.

Dave will chuckle, but i'm impressed that the lad managed have worthwhile conversation to get a word in edge-ways! Dave will not let "dead air" occur.yes Dave you are notorious for it.. every millisecond must be filled with information.. :) (in a good way) .. This lad.. stands up and out. and is well worthy of a career and any sponsorship. Bravo! 👏

I love that you are educating about overhead projectors. I'm 35 and giggle but future peoples watching your great content will have no clue. I get it. Teach away!

I know these devices, was an apprentice in the company that produced it.
This is what is used to remove static electricity
The test room always smelled of ozone.
I still know what 10KV feels like, very little ampere, 30 years later

Packet radio is still a thing.. APRS is used for beacons, vehicle tracking (with gps) and small messages..you can use SDR dongle and software to decode with ease.. weatherfax is still a thing..i have a vid or 2 on my channel... (along with a SSTV capture from the ISS!)

Wow, what a great winner and video . Well deserved and that he could visit your lab to join the video.
Maybe you might get an update in 6 months or whenever he had achieved something he liked to share with the world.
Great one.

Cool to meet Josh! If that high voltage supply came out of a chemical plant, I'd be concerned that was NOT iron oxide, but rather the result of some reaction. If you start growing a third arm, or notice random holes in the benches, call the hazmat people. 😁

If I end up getting a framework laptop, I will definitely get one! looks really useful, don't need one of those massive cables that push everything in their way or some big box hanging out the side potentially damaging ports. Great work!

The PSU at the start is for running an electrostatic ionizing system surprising how many different fields use these devices too.. I know of one in a lab where its used to stop electrostatic causing small amounts of various chemical powders to fly off and stick to everything when weighing very precise amounts etc etc. I beleive they are used in places with textiles / paper and foil too for very much the same thing.
