Anna Kendrick reveals tense exchange with director

Anna Kendrick has recalled once telling a director to “f**k off” after he embarrassed her on-set for her improv skills.

To be fair, Anna didn't volunteer or introduce the story; she was asked a specific, kinda intrusive, question by the interviewer and she answered it plainly in her usual transparent manner. What you see is what you get.

Once you hear Anna speak, you know she’s the real deal. If you don’t know her, or haven’t heard her speak, she can come off as direct. But she’s so truthful and such a beautiful human.

I really enjoyed her directing debut of "The Woman of the Hour". There is something special about an actor directing a movie because they understand the actor's language and getting the best from your actors doesn't mean putting them down, it's about leadership. She did a phenomenal job, beautiful shots and suspense.

Two years ago, I worked as a background actor on her directorial debut, a film she also stars in. I’m looking forward to see the result as it has yet to have an official release but feedbacks were great at festivals (TIFF I believe). It was something to watch her direct and act at the same time.
