Nearly a hundred years old and we're still finding things about this movie to talk about.

You ever track what the characters are doing in the background around Dorothy and the Good Witch Glinda? They're always paying attention to what Dorothy and Glinda are doing, move a little bit, and take a new position every five seconds, adding more people to the set, but always in view of the camera, or positioned so that when the camera does move they're in position. I've got my eyes on this one soldier that comes out behind a house before slowly circling the scene.

Timeless classic!!

If you watch at 2:11 lower right corner of screen you will see the shadow of a boom camera following Dorothy down the yellow brick road.

Still way ahead of it’s time for 1939.

Fun Fact: The Ruby Slippers became iconic thanks to the film.

However, in the original book, those were Silver Shoes.

Crazy how such a colorful and cutesy movie has such a dark history of filming.

One of my all-time favorites. The "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" scene is my favorite part of the movie. The Munchins were all in unison with their movements and dancing. I can watch this a billion times and never get tired of it

Im a 2004 kid myself but my parents introduced me to lots of their culture so this movie was just as much a "classic" to me, than it was to my parents. But clips of this song used to play in my favorite arcade when i was a kid from this one coin pusher machine, so whenever i hear the follow the yellow brick road part, sung by the munchkins. Its like a wave of realization, flashbacks, and its such an entirely different feeling. the only way to describe it would be a chilling, shocking, comforting realization. Its like PTSD but good.

Wonderful time. This is the movie of our great grandma. And it is still great. "We are off to see the wizard" is indelibly bunt into my memory.

The Wizard of Oz and Jaws, two of the biggest movies that should never be remade

I've had this song stuck in my head for the last few days and it reminded me of simpler times in my life. I'm gonna give this movie a rewatch here soon.

Boy! This movie is really old. My great-grandparents were young, my grandparents were little and my parents weren't even born yet when this movie was released. My dad saw this movie when he was a boy. I saw it for the first time when I was 11.

I always loved how the kid Munchins run after Glinda's globe saying goodbye. You know she has a history with Munchinland as their protector.
