Many blood gas reports and some serum biochemistry reports provide a value called the total CO2 (tCO2). While it seems you would want to use the total CO2 in your acid-base analysis, you actually want to use the pCO2.

If tco2 is the sum of all CO2 then why Tco2 value is less than Pco2? Mostly all abgs have this format.

Hello 👋🏽 my hematologist(iron deficiency anemia) did a few of these tests today and my PCo2 was at 40.8 the lab references are 41.0-51.0 should I be concerned? It also has another range that states Alert 3.0-200.0
