when I was 11 my dad had to work far away and I rarely got to see him. I wanted to see Finding Nemo with him but he just couldn't come. I watched it with a friend and called him and told him he had to see it "because it's about us". And he shared that memory many times with me over the past 11 years, and now I share it with you, because it's all the more meaningful since he passed away. I've had a dad do anything and everything to get me back to him and keep me safe. this song will forever float in the background of my life and in the memory of our final moments together.

I saw this movie back in 2003 at the cinema when I was 8 I bought it on DVD when it came out and would watch it with my parents over and over again as I grew up this movie faded away and I never watched it for about 11 years I then remembered all the great times me and my parents had watching Nemo so I decided to watch it with my 1 year old daughter and my parents who I invited over. I cried (and so did my parents) nostalgically through the whole movie. When the movie ended we said our goodbyes and my dad said during a hug"Daddy's got you son" Unfortunately my dad died recently and he wrote down what he wanted to be played at his funeral and of course it was this and at the bottom of the note it said"Goodbye son" Rest in peace dad I hope you tell me how old sea turtles are when I see you again

I have issues with my dad. I lost him when I was fourteen and even before then we had issues with our relationship. It wasn't terrible or abusive but it was never a father and son relationship. One of the few things we ever did together was see this movie in the theater and I projected ourselves onto Nemo and Marlin even though my father was more of a hard ass rather than an overprotective one. Anyway, listening to this and rewatching this film does help me get over it, even now nearly ten years after he passed.

Thomas Newman moves me. Every one of his pieces has so much love and heartbreaking emotion in it, especially this one. His compositions move me in a deeper way than Elfman, Williams, or Zimmerman ever can (although Shore has almost the same effect). Long live Newman.

This song makes me tear up every time I listen to it. I think of my family when I hear this piece. I am reminded to cherish them, and to remember all the times they have ever held me close, as well as all the times they were there for me. I will always be thankful.
