When this came out, my 2 year old was in the Children's hospital in Oregon with a broken neck. They had this movie on loop. She watched it over and over. I cry when I hear the music. She's now a Senior and 100% okay. 🎶❤️🙏

Chills, up and down my arms.
I re-watched this movie not long ago, and when this song came on, I bawled my eyes out.
It was the mix of feeling in the song, a warm, love between a father and is son, the sadness of losing so many others, combined with the calmness of an warm ocean made the opening scene peerless.

I remember crying when I heard certain parts of this score.... and yes, that was WITHOUT the tear-jerking animation alongside it.  It's very rare for music to affect me with such strong emotion.  I also recall Stravinsky's Firebird Suite doing the same when I was a teenager.  Thomas Newman is unique among film composers.

Finding Nemo was the first movie I remember watching in a theatre. I was five years old on a family trip in New Zealand. I remember constantly quoting the scene where Marlin and Dory meet the sharks with my great uncle Bruce (you can guess who he played). He died two days before Christmas 2017. These 77 seconds of music are how I will always remember him.
