Keeping our teeth strong and healthy is not only good for our smile, but also for our general health.

When it’s time for a repair, the dentist must be sure that material is used in that repair is compatible with the tooth.

Most filler materials, especially adhesive type fillers, can swell or shrink during curing. If not carefully controlled with the formulation, this dimensional change can itself cause damage to the tooth.

In this video, Darryl explains how strain gage sensors are used to quantify filler material compatibility, but these sensors are also used to characterize tooth properties and how teeth respond to force inputs (like that popcorn kernel you just crunched down on!).

So the gauge being on the side of the tooth would function when the pressure is coming from the top? Even if the tooth was all natural with no composite filling? Also, how is the ohm reading translated to psi or other units? Do you have videos on that or info on your website? Sorry, very new to these devices and don't have a good grasp on how they work yet but I have a project where I would like to use one of these gauges, thanks.
