Everyone is on to the flipping game. Store clearance areas are marked up, thrift stores are marked up, even yard sales are getting more expensive.

I quit shopping and donating at Goodwill when I found out their CEO was making high 6 figure salary.

Goodwill also has sites on Ebay. They also have their own auction site where they sell the expensive stuff.

Notice the male sandals that were originally 6 bucks from the original store and GW has it for 5.99. Like we wouldn't notice that they're selling it for the same price as the original store, for something they got for free

I donate clothes, furniture etc. to a local charity where the proceeds help local homeless.

This is why I don't donate to them. The stores here in Miami have been selling stuff for crazy prices for like 15years. I always give my stuff to to women's shelters

Thats why I hardly shop thriftstores anymore, some of their pricing policies are insane.

As someone who worked at a thrift store, what probably happened was that they got those shoes with the clearance tags on them, cut off the tags, and are selling them for the clearance price. At least that’s what we did when we priced things. Thrift stores have to make money too.
