Just a comment from someone who starred learning from a book when I was in my early 20's...
I was so thrilled when I finally got to where I could play enough chords to play a few songs that I could sing and play to.
Saying that, I learned a lot of bad habits or didn't learn the basic things that you are able to add on to. I'm 54 now and for the last year or so I've gone back and started learning the correct way from people like Andy, who is so good at teaching the building blocks and fundamentals to help advance in playing.
There was no YouTube back then, if anyone was wondering? Lol.
