I always used to use a thin pick for strumming, but I recently changed to a thicker one. I find that the sound is more rich on the chord change with the thicker pick. Like what you said about the think picks being more forgiving, I found for me it meant every chord kinda sounded the same. But yeah, the thick pick is like a riding bull, it keeps wanting to pop out my hand, now I understand the connection as to why :)

Omg! You nailed it for me. I can’t tell you how many times when I was in my first yr of guitar playing I would lose my pick in the hole or drop it. lol. I thought my pic was thin. I had a .60 Dunlop. This one change helped me. Thank you.

I don’t know if I could keep track of a guitar pick for 10 years and ngl I’m impressed. Thanks for tip I watched another vid and they said exact same thing. I’m just a beginner musing a medium Fender. Going to town to get a thin one tomorrow 😍 thanks again and Amen!

I literally just bought a 12 pack of those same picks this weekend! I was using a .60 and then I found a .50 in my case and and stated using it and it helped. So I bought the .46 and hope to try it this evening. I also like the grip on those picks. That is another issue I have some times, keeping hold of it lol.

Yes sir! I normally use .50mm. It makes a ton of difference!

So, what you're saying is that I should use a thinner pick? ☺️

I've tried to use a 1.7mm pick and it was hard to control the sound of strumming.

Love your videos!! You have so much passion and that goes a long way. Jesus is using you to change life’s that you are not even aware of! You learned me to play on my dad’s old guitar that he didn’t use. Would be nice to finally meet you! Im from South Africa. Thanks for your support. Bless you brother!🙏🙏💪💪

Hey Garrett, I had a question, I've started to play with a pick recently, is it normal for you to hear the pick when you play ? It's cuz I'm playing and I can hear my pick "flap " and when I play louder, it also gets louder . I don't hear it when I listen to you

It’s an ok video, but you should change the title to. I’m going to explain to you that you’re using the wrong guitar pick for five minutes.
