To this day, after 43 years listening to this album, I still put this song on repeat.... over and over and over

For me, most Boston songs now come across as a cry for help from Brad Delp. He let us know the best he knew how, and nobody did anything for him. RIP Brad, you had the greatest voice in rock, and you’re missed to this day.

Boston is a great American rock band who had their biggest success in the 70's-80's. They had a lot of great songs such as "Foreplay/Long Time", "Rock & Roll Band", "Don't Look Back", "A Man I'll Never Be", "Feelin' Satisfied", Smokin'", "We're Ready", "Amanda", "Hollyann", "Cool The Engines" etc.

My favorite guitar solo ever at 4:23 and remember Tom Schultz, producer, editor, engineer, and played all instrument, acoustic, electric, rythm and bass guitars, organ, keyboards. No drums, and all vocals and backups by Brad Delp.

My 1st live concert. Saved my lawn-mowing $ and paid the 6 bucks for tix. Parents were mad but parents CAN be wrong.

Your take was spot on and I never thought about it that way before. Guitar solo was the ride out

Once you get to the guitar solo, you’ll remember it until you’re dying day if you’re any type of musician or music lover

The guitar solo in Boston's Hitch a Ride has got to be one of the most impressive outro solos I had ever heard when first listening to them in the 70's and even today, so emotionally expressive it fits in perfectly with the lyrics. It's no wonder Boston is still just as relevant now as they were in the 70's.

This song could've been a cry for help prior to his suicide. Anyhow, one of the best guitar solos iMHO.

This was the backdrop to my teen years and to this day, remains the only album on which I totally love every single song. Thanks for taking me down memory lane!

I
I watched a different channel reaction on this song and the guy said his voice sounded like butter in a good way… I was 12 when this album came out and my neighbors turned me onto it. They were a couple years older than me and I’ve been a fan ever since I was so lucky to have decent neighbors that schooled me in great music.

Brad Delp, Boston's lead singer did commit suicide in 2007. So sad...He was arguably one of the best rock vocalists of all time. RIP
He didn't write this song, however. His bandmate Tom Scholz did. Great song and maybe the greatest debut album of all time.
Thank you, Saeed for another insightful reaction 👍

This was great. Your appreciation for Boston was incredible to watch. Fr. They're one of the few bands I love just as much as I ever have. They hit me exactly the same after all these years. ❤ (Kansas as well)
