Another twist that would be fun is if this new reality is just another sim. Made up to give him some excitement. The real world could stay hidden or even be another planet or an alien zoo.

As a kid, I read captain W.E. JOHNS, most well known for "Biggles"
I was sick, confined to bed and our neighbour brought in a box of Johns's books...but not Biggles.
These were genuine, flying saucer, martian peopled sci-fi !
I've never recovered.

11/20/24 , I’ve long suspected exactly this . Things in my world are just too stupid to be real, too blatantly ignorant . The original designers must have died long ago and left behind a poorly written program that was hastily put into action while hoping for the best outcome . It isn’t working and in fact, it’s degradating more and more over time . We are rapidly approaching the end of this simulation, I for one am very glad to see it come to this . I’ve had enough for 3 lifetimes and haven’t fully lived one yet . Move on people, there’s very little intelligent life left on this planet 🌎 . Take care all, good story .

Very similar idea to the matrix and other much older sci fi books about living in the simulation. I very much enjoyed it. Great work to the cast and crew! 🤙🏻👍🏻🤙🏻👍🏻😎

A very competent example of "show, don't tell" in storytelling. It compares well to the young-adult novels of Andre Norton and Alexander Key.

I appreciated the effort and story. One technical thing was the mix was often wrong with background noise or music muffling the voices. A great start.
