- About Dr. Mary Claire Haver and The Galveston Diet -
Dr. Mary Claire Haver is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist from the American College of Culinary Medicine. She is a Louisiana State University Medical Center graduate and completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). She is also a Certified Menopause Specialist through The Menopause Society.
Dr. Haver was a clinical professor at UTMB and The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Haver has served as a Hospitalist, Associate Residency Director, and Assistant Professor in her career. In 2021 she opened Mary Claire Wellness, a clinic dedicated to caring for the menopausal patient.
Dr. Haver has amassed over 3 million followers across social media by posting advice for women going through menopause. She understands that menopause healthcare is in dire need of change and is proud to be leading the conversation.

I love your videos, they're so helpful and informative! Thanks to you, I'm taking Vitamins D and K, Omega, Calcium, Collagen and Magnesium. I workout daily, but cut way back on my cardio, focusing on strength, and I walk daily.

Was diagnosed with osteopenia a few years ago. Was never offered HRT. After finding & following you, started your skin & bone collagen as well as your vitamin D with K a few months ago. Just changed doctors and started estradiol patch. I hopeful I can change things with supplements, pharmacology and working out. Thank you for educating me on what steps I could take! I never knew…

My Mom has had 4 spinal fractures WITHOUT injury due to osteoporosis. She wasn't even doing anything strenuous. Just daily living. Not ONCE, per her, at any yearly physical or pap did anyone say a word about menopause & osteoporosis. The ONLY reason it's on my radar now is bcuz of her injuries. Take what this Dr is saying here VERY seriously. Also, be aware certain medications can weaken the bone apparently. IDK what you'd do about that but if it's a med you've got to take, talk to your Dr about your concerns. Stay as healthy as possible y'all. 💐

What about women with breast cancer? What are the best options to prevent osteoarthritis? Already taking d, k, magnesium and fortibone collagen that you've suggested. Anything else?

Dr Haver, May I kindly ask you about Vitamin K2? I hear about vitamin K2 + vitamin D talked about on all the health podcasts EVERYWHERE! Why should we do Vitamin K as opposed to vitamin K2 or can we do both? Also, Can type 2 diabetic women take HRT? Thank you for all you do!

I’m 66 never been on hormone therapy, and just dx’d with osteoporosis. My MD will not Rx hormones…says it’s too late. Is this true?
