Heard so many people turning to Orthodoxy. So I gave it an honest look. Now I CAN NOT believe how blinded I was by Protestantism. I must've sounded like a Muppet parroting these perverted Prot arguments. Does seem there's quite a movement recently of people awakening to the ancient faith.

I had the "honor" of being mentioned on a stream on Revealed Apologetics, a Calvinist channel, that Shooping appeared on. While he was talking, I brought up counter points and I would have to say, his responses were rather weak. How anybody could leave Holy Orthodoxy for Evangelicalism is beyond me and I say this as a former Protestant.

Schooping is their attempt to literally grasp at straws, in a way hes much more damaging to their position because his arguments are so atrocious and ignornant. Hes like the protestant lofton.

As someone who discovered Orthodoxy back in 2018 and as a former Protestant, I've definitely felt a sense of desperation coming from the Protestant sphere in trying to come up with ways to debunk Orthodoxy. It's clear that a lot of people don't know what the Orthodox really believe and will either lob us into Catholicism or make really bad "tier 1" arguments. Stuff like "we worship Mary" or "we worship icons" or the typical "ethnic club" argument.

I imagine we'll see better apologetics against Orthodoxy in a few years, but right now Protestantism is going to continue to seriously bleed numbers because they're so used to arguing with Catholics and other Protestants.

I was just exposed to Schooping for the first time, an interview where he was "explaining" why he left orthodoxy in favor of lutheranism, and I'm less appalled by him personally than by the fact that someone with such a superficial understanding would be given priestly authority in the orthodox church.

I listened to Schooping. And I find his reasons to not be convincing. Like the whole ethnicity thing or the anti-ecumenical. The ethnicity thing can happen in any church. I’m hispanic, I can feel like a stranger myself if I walk into a Pentecostal church that is all black or a baptist church that is all white. I’m not shocked if I visit a Romanian church or Slavic, Greek, or Russian church and they may be in shock to see me there but that doesn’t take away from the truth of the faith. Also it cheapens the faith to be ecumenical and Protestants are not as united as Schooping and Gavin Ortlund try to portray it There are crucial and incompatible differences amongst the denominations that lead to what I call Christian Relativism Jesus is what my particular church or opinion thinks he is. So if I’m comfortable with a Jesus is my buddy theology, that’s all he’s going to be. Lord have mercy! ☦️

Is it bad to make videos about converting from one denomination to another? Orthodox do it all the time. Jay and David mock Schooping and protestants for doing it at the very beginning of the video. They are being hypocritical, clearly. That's okay. Hypocrisy is not the end of the world.

Considering staying orthodox, than see discussions like this and no, I do not want to be in such a sect as orthodoxy. Will do my best do debunk it in my country.
