Fkn unbelievable, pritty sure this the issue I've got in my 08 collardo that's a alloytec as well, it's was starting & running fine, it had been broken into though, the security Ignition Module was reading from an axlily key & have a different Ignition key, but now its cranking but not starting, pritty sure fuel & spark r good so got a feeling this is what I'm going to have to do

I did this a few years ago. Still haven't replaced the ECU because I spent $1000 on a custom tune.
In my version, I have a starter button setup I got from Jaycar. The car will sometimes start normally.
If it doesn't, I do IGNITION ON-PRESS STARTER-RUN FOR 10 SECONDS-IGNITION OFF-TURN KEY-STARTS NORMALLY.

Sometimes there's still an issue with the transmission - it won't downshift properly. It CLUNKS!
Clearing codes using an OBD2 dongle & phone software (I actually have an android tablet as my head unit which can do this) fixes it.

If you start just from the button, as shown in the video, it will throw codes.
I don't like driving it like that, since the ECU hasn't initialised properly, and bad things could happen, so a reset as described works better.

Cuuuunt I have to test this out tomorrow I been dreading taking it too get fixed as they all quoted 1500+ and only paid 5grand for the car so if that fixes it I owe you a carton or two brother

Just found another way to also do this as it iust happend out of no where a week ago and my cars tuned so cost of doing all the modules and then going and getting another tune no way haha just brought the car 4 weeks ago if you plug a obd2 scanner into the obd2 port pin 4 5 or 5 6 cant remember but its the obd2 ground pins plug the scan tool in and bam starts straight up as well mine has a issue still tho alternator is not charging says Alternator terminal F low voltage since the pwm in the alternator or however it is is controlled by the ecu do you know how to bypass it as a rat chewed through the plug for the ecu to regulator so duty cycles at 99% when running now but dont know how to or what wire i need to do whatever with to make the field excite the alternator so it actually powers the alternator cheers

does this turn it off too? or it turn off by key and not matter if switch is flicked or not for next start up?

Mines just started doing this but most its gone is 3 tries to start her and itll be fine 3rd go. Doesnt happen every time either. Its just at random pulling a blank. Is there any other reason why it would be doing it?
