ADDITIONS/ERRATA (UPDATED MODS AT THE END)
-6:14 The setting to add an adjective before a creature's name DOES work, but it only affects NEW actors (creatures) you create. For any actors you already have in your World, you'd have to manually change each one's Prototype Token settings. ALSO, PF2e Workbench (a mod I talk about in Part 2 which can mystify NPC names) overrides this for any token you mystify when you place it on a map. So you'll want to use one method or the other.
-I believe Foundry natively now lets you end the current turn in combat with Shift-M (Shift-N for the previous turn).

UPDATES TO MODS as of 8/19/24 (a LOT of changes/new things/things I didn't know about, in the just several weeks since I originally recorded this!)

Updates on some of the mods I mention:
Elevation Ruler -> Built into PF2e core (must be enabled)
Health Estimate -> Use PF2e HUD (it show health estimates on hover if enabled)
Token Action HUD: another alternative is PF2e HUD which I haven't tried yet
Pathmuncher: Use with caution. Some report it creates errors that can cause longstanding problems. Also, building a character in Foundry is pretty easy. However, a lot of my players use Pathbuilder. Also, in my experience, since I already check over everything with a fine-toothed comb, I find it saves time because I'm double-checking everything anyway (and don't fully trust my players lol).
PF2e Staves -> Pf2e Dailies. Commenter says "This module handles all dailies including staves and is amazing"
Pf2e Psychic Amps -> Now added to core PF2e Foundry
Illandril's Token Tooltips: an alternative is PF2e HUD

Foundry's dev team is also fantastic. Just to compare: I used to use Fantasy Grounds. I once encountered a bug or annoyance with the automation, reported it to the discord server and asked for a workaround regarding some of the automation, and was dismissed out of pocket because "it's not broken / why would you even want to do things that way?"

In Foundry, I encountered a bug with the initiative tracker not displaying a value in Starfinder. One of the devs not only marked the bug to be fixed in the next major release, he actually told me what line to edit in the xml file to fix the bug early myself, and suggested other options for how to track the value that I wanted to show in the initiative tracker.

*FoundryVTT V12 Updated Recommendations based on Pt. 1*
-Elevation Ruler- -> Built into PF2e System (must be enabled in Settings) add *Wayfinder* for pathing
-Health Estimate- -> Use *PF2e HUD* (it show health estimates on hover if enabled)
-Token Action HUD- -> Use *PF2e HUD* (Note token action HUD is still fine, Pf2e HuD is just a bit nicer)
-Pathmuncher- -> Don't Use this module maybe People on the PF2e team say it can cause issues with the system built in automation due to how it makes characters
-PF2e Staves- -> *Pf2e Dailies* This module handles all dailies including staves and is amazing
-Pf2e Psychic Amps- -> Don't need, is added to core
-Illandri's Token Tooltips- -> PF2e HUD better for pf2e version

*tldr* - Use *PF2e HUD* (also install my *rules lawyer* module 🙂 )

Playing Pathfinder in person with Foundry is doable and, with the right setup, very enjoyable

The Psychic Amp module isn't needed any more. It has been rolled into the latest version of the system as of a couple months ago.

It's hard to overstate how much I love Foundry as a VTT. Having something so open and customizable AND is a one and done purchase instead of constant rent-seeking is such a rarity these days.

super useful. One module I would consider essential for all games and systems is the "X-Card" module by Richard Bellingham. It adds a simple button on the left that anyone can click and cause an X to pop up on screen for everyone, anonymously. It's a good safety tool but also good for polling the players! (for example, "is anyone not okay with what this character is doing?")
Can't wait for the next parts of this series! the pf2e foundry integration is so good <3

When I started DM-ing PF2e in Foundry, I learned a lot from your old video and was really hoping for an update. Honestly, you might need to make this a yearly video, or at least make one a couple months after each major Foundry update. It's always cool to see the different things that people accomplish with this software!

Much of this has been said, but visibility is nice:
- The ruler mods (like Drag Ruler and Elevation Ruler) have been baked into core system now. Only thing not working I noticed is recoloring based on speed.
- Amped spells are baked into core now.
- DO NOT USE PATHMUNCHER. Or any other importing tool for characters. Your character sheet may **appear** to have everything correct, but a bunch of the automation happening behind the scenes will be broken. Its so easy to build characters in foundry you are causing a campaign full of issues to save maybe 3 minutes.
- PopOut! Breaks a lot of interactive functionalty so it isnt advised to popout character sheets specifically if you use your sheet often for rolling things.

I highly recommend the PF2e Dailies module, rather than Staves. You get a very quick to use button that helps you do your daily preparations (including food), and it also adds your staff casting to the Activations tab alongside the other magic items that cast spells.

Thank you so much for the video - I found this extremely helpful as a FoundryVTT and PF2E beginner! I'm hoping to run the Beginner Box at some point for a group of D&D 5E veterans, and it'll be our first time with both. With this series I think I'll really impress them. :)

One important point though that you may wish to highlight in them and to the community.

You are presenting a sequence of modules for the purposes of tuition, not the sequence in which they should be installed. This is really important to new users who may not appreciate this distinction :)

We've been playing for months and had no idea about the party sheet (I'd long ago deleted the party folder in favour of my own organization). It seems very handy for setting skill checks too. Thanks!

I didn't even know the left click thing was a function! I've just been making due with the escape button this whole time!

I did want to add as well, the party summary for exploration speed doesn't seem to incorporate additional things like vehicles and mounts. I calculated my party could hop in their wagon and travel at the speed of their horses, but the summary didn't reflect that
