Love this low key series for the ketogenic athlete! I rock climb at an advanced level 4x a week and experimenting with protein and carbs has been a must. Still on my journey though and nothing conclusive

I hate many of these studies because they often take someone who has lived on carbs all their lives up to the point of study, put them on a keto diet for a few days then test them. They rarely take a properly keto adapted individual (3months plus) and make the comparison. It’s probably why the 20 month study came to that conclusion because the bodies had sufficiently adapted.

I think I’m insulin resistant. If I cheat even a little on keto I gain weight. I have to be extremely strict for it to work. :( I’ve lost 70lbs when I first did keto hard core, but then I relaxed and even eating at a calorie deficit I gain (if I eat anything high in carbs).

I still love sugar and I hate that in order to enjoy anything sweet I have to make it myself and it’s usually not as satisfying. I’ve gotten pretty good at cooking since it forced my hand.

I already knew eating at a deficit doesn’t work for me though. When I was in high school I only ate fruit and 800 calories a day and went to the gym daily and could not get under 214lbs. This was for like 2 years.

I've been eating a lot of Australian lamb, which is also supposedly high in beta-alanine, and it's healthier than grain-fed beef while much cheaper than grass-fed beef (at least at Costco, where the lamb loin chops are $6.79.)

Gluconeogenesis occurs when you don't consume carbs. If you tap out the ketone production and utilization, you'll have those carbs.

Some claim that 25% of fat that is lost on Keto is coming from fat in muscles. In another words they dont like it to lose muscle mass due to adaptive thermogenesis.

What do you think on that?

I had multiple cheat meals hahaha, im just not stressing about it too much so i just move on and get back to keto🤍 when can i start eating the recipes ? Should i count my calories and grams? Thank you so much🤍
